A blog post about Korean Pop. You gotta be kidding me. Get a hold of yourself, Thomas–sorry, It’s true. I’m addicted. First with all the Korean Dramas from, “My Girl” to “Dream High(Currently watching Dream High 2).” That’s what started this all. Dream High, a story about students striving to become the next big Korean Pop star. They struggle, just like your average teenager, with emotional and physical problems in high school life. There’s love stories, bullying and parental issues. Nothing crazy, right? It’s nothing really. But I did some more research, this is what got me hooked, I found out most of the actors in the series are all famous singers and even producers. The girl above, IU, AKA Miss. Sushi in Dream High is huge in Korea and I’m pretty sure here too. Youtube after youtube, I couldn’t stop. Maybe it’s the fact that they’re Asian. And Asians just like to watch Asians. Same goes for most races nowadays. Most of my aunts watch Kdramz (Sounds cooler this way), with all subtitles in Vietnamese of course. I prefer English sub, obvyyyy. Oh yeah, they’re all subtitles so you get pick up some Korean as well. Simple yes’s and no’s, and hello of course. Anyong Haseyo! Total poser, so lame. Anyways, watch these awesome videos by two of my favorite girl(s) performers. Favorites, for now. I’m still learning this new (pop) culture!
