My second edition to my prop collection is Dennis Nedry’s Cryocan from the film, “Jurassic Park.” IT’S DINO DNA! This was the reason why I started this hobby. I researched all the Jurassic Park forums just to find this Barbasol can. That’s how I found out about thereplicapropforum. Found out that there’s two makers of this can. Rylo’s Cryocan (Which is the one seen above) and Nicksdad’s Cryocan. Only difference between them is the band. Rylo’s is Brown/Red and Nicksdad is black. Built with the utmost quality of the exact replica. To be even more authentic, Rylo’s version was used in the Blu-ray extras of Jurassic Park film. And now, I have one of ‘em. AHHH!!! Now all it’s missing is actual Dino DNA. Bakkaaaaa…
My first DIY prop project I decided to make was a Wonka Bar. It’s from the film, “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory,” obvyy. For all you new kids out there, this one’s the original, and the best, nothing like the J. Depp one. Ugh. Anyways, I thought it was was fairly easy to make since I’m already a designer. Some measurements here and there, Staples for print, Any somewhat large chocolate bar. Then bam. Done and done. A Wonka Bar! If you’d like to make one yourself I included items you need and a sized jpeg file link below. Enjoy!
Items needed:
- Chocolate bar (I chose Hershey’s Symphony just in case I wanted to eat one. Heh. Your local drug store should have ‘em.)
- Wonka Bar File (The file is a lot bigger than the chocolate bar, I had the printers size it down for me.)
- Ruler & Exacto-knife or a paper cutter
- Tape or glue
Oh, also, I’m working on the Golden Ticket as well. So y’all come back for that. Can’t have Wonka bars without the five lucky golden tickets!
